ABOUT

I. Our Mission

PsychConcierge endeavors to offer individuals expedient mental health services that are provided by highly skilled clinicians. We aim to deliver comprehensive and effective care to patients in need, without extensive waiting or other barriers to receiving treatment. The PsychConcierge method is designed to extend patients unparalleled clinical care, which is capable of yielding positive change that is both substantive and enduring. At an elemental level, we strive to assist individuals to achieve desired and lasting constructive results.

II. Our Philosophy

The therapeutic alliance forged between a patient and their provider is unique and remarkably powerful. PsychConcierge seeks to treat patients efficiently so that they may achieve goals as successfully as possible. PsychConcierge pursues enhancement in the lives of patients through carefully constructed treatment plans with a definitive beginning, middle, and end. While change requires time, hard work, and patience, we aspire to bring individuals into our care quickly, and assist them to reach a better place as promptly as circumstances permit. The diverse training and educational backgrounds of our clinical team allow us to conceptualize and treat patients from a holistic and multidisciplinary perspective, which constitutes our signature service.

III. Our Model

PsychConcierge performs psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological interventions primarily through telehealth platforms. This allows patients to access such services from virtually anywhere with internet connectivity. While some services, such as prescription of certain controlled substances and psychometric evaluations, require in-person appointments, we are happy to accommodate our patients’ unique needs remotely when appropriate. In essence, we can offer patients exceptional quality care in the most convenient manner possible, through evidence based and empirically supported methods.

IV. Concierge Style Structure

Our innovative style of care delivery prioritizes patient-centered service, leveraging a low patient volume to ensure rapid responsiveness, flexible scheduling, and highly personalized treatment. By adopting a prepayment arrangement for session fees and offering discounted multi-session packages, our practice eliminates the traditional membership fee barrier, making concierge-level care accessible to a broader demographic. Supported by extensive research, this model aligns with the growing demand for enhanced access and quality in mental health care, addressing both patient and provider needs in a transformative way.

V. Practice Construct & Benefits

Our practice operates on a unique framework that maximizes patient engagement, along with provider efficiency and efficacy:

  • Prepaid Session Fees: Patients reserve appointments by paying a session fee in advance, ensuring commitment and streamlining administrative processes. This approach reduces no-show rates and allows providers to focus on care delivery rather than billing complexities (Cascardo, 2014b).

  • Comprehensive Initial Evaluations: Each initial evaluation allocates 80 minutes for face-to-face interaction with a provider, followed by 10 minutes for meticulous record-keeping. This extended time enables a thorough assessment of psychological and pharmacological needs, fostering tailored treatment plans (Dalen & Alpert, 2017).

  • Psychotherapy Sessions: Psychotherapy sessions offer 50 minutes of direct patient-therapist interaction, with an additional 10 minutes for documentation. This configuration supports in-depth therapeutic work, critical for addressing complex mental health conditions (Dalen & Alpert, 2017).

  • Psychopharmacotherapy Sessions: Medication management sessions provide 25 minutes of face-to-face time with a prescriber, followed by 5 minutes for record-keeping. This focused approach ensures precise medication adjustments and patient education (Dalen & Alpert, 2017).

  • Multi-Session Packages: Instead of a fixed membership fee, patients can prepurchase multi-session packages at significant discounts. This innovative pricing model enhances affordability, encouraging long-term engagement while maintaining the exclusivity of concierge care (Cascardo, 2014a).

  • Rapid Responsiveness and Flexibility: With a deliberately low patient volume, our providers offer quick responsiveness and abundant appointment availability. Telehealth capabilities extend service beyond traditional office hours, accommodating diverse patient schedules and geographic locations (Vijayasarathi et al., 2019).

VI. Evidence-Based Support

The concierge model is uniquely suited for mental health care, as evidenced by recent literature. Smaller patient panels, typically 400-600 compared to 2,000-3,000 in traditional practices, allow providers to spend extended time with each patient, resulting in comprehensive assessments and personalized interventions (Dalen & Alpert, 2017). This is particularly vital for psychotherapy and psychopharmacotherapy, where ongoing patient-provider interaction is essential for effective management of mental health conditions. Patients in concierge practices benefit from immediate access to providers via electronic communication or same-day appointments, which is critical for addressing mental health crises or adjusting medications promptly (Cascardo, 2014a). Research from organizations like MDVIP suggests that concierge care can reduce hospitalizations and emergency visits by emphasizing preventive care and wellness, outcomes that are highly relevant for mental health patients (Dalen & Alpert, 2017). For providers, the concierge model mitigates burnout and administrative burdens, enabling a focus on delivering high-quality care. The elimination of extensive insurance paperwork, coupled with predictable revenue from prepaid sessions and multi-session packages, supports financial stability and allows investment in advanced training or technologies (Page, 2013; Cascardo, 2014b). The integration of telehealth aligns with modern patient-centered trends, as digital platforms enhance access and engagement, particularly for psychotherapy (Vijayasarathi et al., 2019). By offering discounted session packages, our practice addresses equity concerns associated with concierge care, making premium mental health services more accessible than traditional high-cost retainer models (Cascardo, 2014a).
